Who We Are

In 2024, Gabb executives Lori Morency Kun, Nate Randle, and Lance Black established the Gabb Foundation to reduce caregiver stress in times of need. The Gabb For Good community includes thousands of parents, caregivers, teachers, and safe tech advocates who enable children to safely connect to loved ones utilizing free phones and watches designed just for them. The company provides free devices and the Gabb Foundation crowdfunds service and catalyzes community support to qualified applicants.

We believe

There is no such thing as other people’s children.

All kids deserve tech designed SPECIFICALLY for them.

It takes collective ACTION to challenge unhealthy tech norms to create a better world.

A balanced approach to tech can be especially challenging for those who are disabled, inadequately resourced, or those facing a health or housing crisis.

Lance Black

Co-Founder, Board Member

As a founding partner of Gabb and former horse wrangler, Lance brings his passion for parenting well with tech by founding the Gabb Foundation. Before helping to launch Gabb, Lance was a partner and CEO of EKR creative
agency, where he forged and re-forged brands to create lasting business value. Lance is a dedicated father of 6 and the driving force of the community action committee at Gabb Foundation.

Vanessa Clayton

Secretary

Vanessa serves as the General Counsel of Gabb, bringing with her experience from Homie and Goldman Sachs. She is a startup champion who creates positive change through rapid growth. Vanessa is the favorite aunt of her rambunctious nephews and is here to scale the Gabb Foundation in her role as secretary.

Greg Cole

Treasurer

Greg brings decades of financial experience from several industries. After receiving his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in accounting from Utah State University, Greg helped grow the accounting team at Conservice Utility Experts from 20 to more than 2,000. He went on to found AIM Ventura Capital, and currently serves as a board member for multiple companies, including Homie, CommLoan, and Opiniion. He joined Gabb in early 2020 as CFO and serves as treasurer for Gabb Foundation. Greg is a father of five, and loves spending time with his kids mountain biking, skiing, golfing, and cheering on their sports teams.

Kate Schroder

Board Member

Kate Schroder has dedicated her life to improving the lives of children and adolescents. She brings to the Gabb Foundation an urgent focus on mental health as the President and CEO at Interact for Health, a 25-year-strong health foundation that works to improve health equity in the Cincinnati area. She also brings 12 years of experience leading global health projects at the Clinton Global Health Initiative, including two years living in Lusaka, Zambia. In 2020, she ran as a candidate for U.S. Congress to bring attention to affordable health services and economic mobility. Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Indiana University and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2011, Kate was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, an experience that she says helps to fuel her passion for improving health care. Kate and her husband live in Cincinnati with their two children.

Mary J. Morton

Board Member

Mary J. Morton, a former NIKE, Inc. Human Resources professional with 25+ years of HR expertise, is now an executive life coach, strategist, author, speaker, international leadership facilitator, property investor, and international mentor. Her mission is to help push humanity forward by empowering individuals and corporations to succeed and prosper. Mary believes in the mission of safe, simple technology for all and joins the Gabb Foundation to continue her advocacy for women and children.

Nate Randle

Co-Founder

Nate is a dad of four and CEO of Gabb, where he champions parenting through simple, safe tech. He believes wholeheartedly that Gabb’s mission can be measured in the number of kids safely connected and parents’ peace of mind. To that end, he works to scale Gabb’s impact through co-founding the Gabb Foundation. Nate serves on the board of Live Your Dream Foundation, which supports families by providing scholarships for single mothers who desire to gain an education to better provide for their children.

Lori Morency Kun

President, Co-Founder

Lori has vast experience scaling nonprofits in cancer research– including Huntsman Cancer Foundation and 5 For The Fight– and a passion for kids as mother of two. She helps steer Gabb Foundation’s impact as co-founder and president. Lori seeks to mobilize a caring community to navigate parenting in the digital age in a non-judgmental, heart-forward way. Gabb offers secure devices and parental education, while the Gabb Foundation crowdfunds support to families through service and assistance.

Gabb parent, Singer-songwriter

Adassa is a singer, songwriter, and voice actress known for her Latin-infused dance-pop music and her role as Dolores in the Disney movie Encanto. Adassa and her husband, Gabe, have 7 children together, many of whom are connected with Gabb phones and watches. She believes in tech in steps and educating parents about navigating their kids’ transition into the digital world.

Kristen SCHUMANN Hansen

Gen Z Digital wellness advocate

Kristen Hansen is the co-founder of Ignite, the digital wellness movement behind the Summer Off Socials challenge and Beyond the Feed newsletter. Her mission is to help young people improve their relationship with technology and transform the way they connect. She is a recent college graduate and now heads up coaching operations at Leland, a marketplace helping people reach their educational goals.

Childhood cancer advocate

Kelly has over 15 years of experience in Talent Acquisition in the technology consulting industry.
She is an advocate for childhood cancer awareness as her family has been directly affected by
her son’s 10 year battle with Neuroblastoma. Kelly is passionate about the mission of kid-safe
technology in a digital world, preserving childhood and creating healthy family routines focused
on activities and connection. Kelly lives in the Chicago area with her husband and 3 children.

Marketer, social champion

Katie Rosholt is a strategic marketing and communications leader with more than 20 years of experience driving growth and delivering results for some of the world’s top brands. Currently, as Managing Director of SOCIETY U.S., she is leading the agency’s expansion into the American market. SOCIETY champions brands and organizations that are working to positively shape the societies in which we all live, work and play to drive societal and business impact.
